ABOUT the Challenge!
The 2021 Big Marlborough Junior Disc Golf Challenge is the Calgary Disc Golf Club’s (CDGC) third event for the 2021 JUNIOR disc golf season for under age 18 youth. It’s about fun and growing the disc golf community. Those new to the sport are welcome too!
Special thanks to Don's Disc Golf for arranging a discounted disc order of extra player and prize discs, plus some other swag!
The location is the Big Marlborough Disc Golf Course. We will use the existing 12 tone locations. Two rounds will be played, though and 1 round option is available for participants of all levels, just let the Tournament Director or one of the other organizers know.
Prior to the rounds there will be an optional area to participate in a putting challenge, distance challenge and maybe even check your speed!
As you know Alberta Health Services COVID-19 restrictions are largely lifted, but do what you need to do to feel comfortable and safe.
We will endeavor to pair up friends if possible. Cards will likely range from 2-4 players. Experienced CDGC players will be on site to cheer kids on and facilitate smooth play.
Bring at least one disc! If you are a beginner, any conventional 'frisbee' style disc will do. Typically as people get better they specialize into disc golf discs. So don't worry!
What is the challenge at Big Marlborough? Tonals (metal cylinders) not cages, so your putting skill will be challenged!

More About Format
Totally new to disc golf or still learning? Players will be sorted into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced categories. Maximum score on any hole will be double par; official results will be adjusted as needed. The Tournament Director reserves the right to move a player up or down categories based on final score.
More details about start times and how to report in your child's score will be emailed out in the days leading up to the Challenge. We do encourage you to look up the Big Marlborough course on UDisc and install the Udisc app on your mobile device!
CDGC Membership
Registration requires a CDGC Junior membership purchase or an existing CDGC Junior membership. A Family membership is also acceptable. A CDGC membership provides access to benefits including access to future tournaments and events hosted throughout the year! A membership also provides funds to help develop junior initiatives, maintain local courses and develop new courses throughout the city. A Junior Membership is in effect until the member is 18 years old!

NOTE: If registering more than one child, please use a unique email addresses for each child to ease the registration process. Have Gmail? One trick is to use the '+' sign like this:
Smith+child1@gmail.com or Smith+child2@gmail.com, so all emails would go to Smith@gmail.com yet the children would have unique CDGC login emails.
Player Pack:
- 1 disc, to be determined!
Prizes: Prize discs to be determined but there will be three categories: Advanced, Intermediate and Beginner. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes.
In addition, a SPECIAL DRAW will be done with the names of everyone who participated in all three Junior Disc Golf Challenges for a large prize!
Registration
Important tips:
- When registering your child, enter the child's name first. Later in the form is a spot to enter your name as the parent or legal guardian.
- Watch out for auto-fill as it likely will replace the child's name with yours.
When registering, you will be asked to list 1-2 of your child’s friends also participating in the event. You will also be asked to indicate your child's skill level.
The Parent or Legal Guardian registering the child must agree to the RELEASE OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND MEDIA RELEASE AGREEMENT in order for the child to participate in the Challenge. This is done through the Registration form.
Player Safety
Please go over safety with your child! Issues include, but are not limited to: getting hit by a disc, slips, trips, falls, the effect of pre-existing medical conditions and inclement weather.
